The Saigon Session

Another day, another shoot. This was somewhere near Bratislava, and the only reason I remember that is because of the yellow corn crops right by the river banks. I also notice that the water is a little higher here, this was probably after a lock.

Later on, we met Helen Holy.

The LOVE Sessions

Some mornings Jeff and I would just go to the top deck and take pictures. I call these my LOVE session. It was very windy, as I recall,  and kind of cold. This was taken early in the morning. Jeff and I suffered from bad jet lag when we were there, and we were up at around five in the morning, so this was the early morning sun, which gave it a yellowish haze, and I think it's quote lovely.

I Go To The Hills When My Heart Is Lonely: Visiting Salzburg

"The Sound Of Music" is one of my all-time favorite movie musicals so it was a special treat for us to go on a tour featuring visits to some of the locations used in the movie. Wearing my Von Trapp family inspired outfit, I ventured to discover Salzburg...

First up was a visit to The Cathedral At Mondsee. Located 25 kilometers east of Salzburg, it was built in 1487 and the Baroque altar by Hans Walburger dates back to 1626. It is where the wedding scene in the movie was shot.

Here is the scene from the movie:

Next up:  shots all over Salzburg, including The Mirabell Garden, which was prominently featured in "Do Re Mi." I loved the Ivy tunnel where, in the movie, the kids were seen singing and jumping around. I also saw the various fountains featured in that scene, and we also visited the cemetery where they hid at while they were planning for their escape via the Alps. (Of course, the cemetery was replicated in a Hollywood soundstage, and the real Von Trapps never really climbed any mountain, but no one is really splitting hairs)
